I’m usually the one to come up with the meal plan for the week, but occasionally my husband will come across a recipe that he wants me to make. I always oblige even if a bit skeptically; however, this one is a keeper. If you like orange chicken or sesame chicken, you’ll love these Sticky Garlic Chicken bites and here’s why…all of the flavor, none of it fried.
In order to get the crispy crust without frying it on, you need to coat it in breadcrumbs and bake it. I have breading and dredging trays, which allows me to keep my other plates clean. I use one for the egg, which is lightly beaten, and the other for the breadcrumbs.
Once I dredge each bit of chicken in the egg, then the breadcrumbs, I bake it all. While it is baking, I make the honey-garlic sauce. This photo shows the chicken when it’s finished, as well as the sauce that is simmering in the skillet.
(If you are serving this dish with rice, start cooking it in the rice cooker when the chicken goes in the oven.)
When the sauce is ready, add the baked chicken to the skillet and combine lightly.
Each chicken bite is glazed with yummy, saucy goodness.
Plate the chicken over the rice as soon as the rice finishes, and garnish with green onion and sesame seeds.
