It’s summertime, and that means it’s time to catch up with the movie classics. And by classics, I don’t mean Casablanca. I’m talking Steven Spielberg, J.R.R. Tolkien, and of course my all time favorite…M. Night Shyamalan. What could go better than watching movies? How about watching movies while munching on some Coconut Oil Popcorn?
I don’t mean any type of popcorn. I’m talking about the kind you make over the stove just like the good ole days before microwave ovens. When I first told my kids how we didn’t have popcorn and made it over the stove, they mocked me. After they had Coconut Oil Popcorn, they were singing a different tune.
Basic Ingredients
All you need to do is put a little coconut oil in a large stock pot, along with popcorn kernels, and cover it over medium high heat until all the popcorn pops.
Then you put in a big paper bag…the kind you get from the grocery store… and sprinkle a little sea salt in.
Shake it up and serve. It’s delicious. The popcorn has a slightly coconut flavor and the sea salt give it a slightly salty taste that isn’t overpowering.
